In order to protect the power system from faults and damage, the remote protection system must transmit command signals in the shortest possible time to selectively remove the faulty portion.
The NSD570 is designed to transmit protection commands over a variety of communication media, such as analog and digital channels for copper, fiber, optical and microwave wireless links, and Ethernet/IP-based communication networks.
The commands can be exchanged with protection devices using contact-type input and output hard wiring or "GOOSE" information based on substation networks via IEC 61850. The modular design of the NSD570 offers the greatest possible flexibility and is suitable for all application needs.
